It is offical

Today we found out we are for sure getting a puppy in mid april! It is a male. Now we need a name for him. Any suggestions?

We Finish Each Other's Sentences.

Henry and I have been going through a book titled "Strengthening Your Marriage" by Wayne Mack. Last week we were reading the chapter on communication and there was a part that talked about not finishing your spouses, or your friends sentences for them. If you truly want to listen to what they are saying, let them speak, don't try and be a mind reader or talk over them. I have to confess I do this to my friends and Henry. God has really brought this to mind this week, and I keep catching myself doing it. I am getting better, but only by Gods grace.

Hudson James Gilbert is Born!

Hudson James was born at 2015 March 17th 2010. He was 7lbs and 3oz and 20.5 inches long. Congratulations Gilbert family we are so happy for you!!

Puppy update

Well, the litter we were looking at that was going to be ready in May did not produce any puppies. I feel so bad for the breeder. She put a lot of time, money, and effort into this litter and wasn't able to even get one puppy out of it. God give and takes away as he pleases. So, we have been pursuing a dog in the litter that will be ready in April. We are on "the list" but that does not mean we are for sure getting a puppy. As the breeder said "we need to be put through the 3rd degree" to make sure we are suitable owners of an Irish Water Spaniel. We are starting that process now.

Today the puppies are 4 weeks old and are getting for the first time, a bath, their nails trimmed, their teeth brushed, and faces shave. I know it sounds weird to do all that as a puppy, but it will make our lives a whole lot easier if the dog is use to getting these things done to it by the time we get it. I will post pictures once I get some.

Adding to the family

We have decided to get an Irish Water Spaniel puppy! We want to get one in May, but the litter we are looking at might only have one puppy who is already spoken for by the breeder. If that litter doesn't work out then we will probably get one in April from a litter that was born on Feb. 14th. I am really excited to have a puppy around. I can't wait to go and pick the little guy up! We will know by the end of the week what litter we will be getting a puppy from.

Faith

Well I have had my license for a month, and graduated 3 months ago, but I don't have a full time job. I got an on call position at the nursing home I was working at as a CNA, but I will never be able to get full time hours on a consistent basis at this job. It is frustrating but I know God is teaching me a lesson. It has been really nice to be home and be able to get all my spring cleaning done and spend time learning to cook new dishes. I have a meeting with a career councilor to see if I need to change anything on my resume or cover letter, so hopefully that helps. I know it will all happen in Gods timing and that I am in God's hands. I just need to have faith in Him.
